DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT PLANNING APPOINTMENT:

You will be actively involved at this appointment as you describe to your dentist what your wishes are and what you would like to achieve. Your dentist will examine your teeth to make sure that veneers are the right choice for you. You may have dental x-rays or impressions done at this visit as well.

PREPARATION:

Your dentist will now remove enamel from your tooth surface to prepare for the thickness of the veneer that will be added to your tooth surface. An impression will then be made and sent off to a lab which will construct your veneer.

BONDING:

Your dental veneer is ready to be permanently cemented to your tooth, but your dentist will examine the fit and the color and trim if necessary. Color can also be adjusted. Your teeth will be cleaned, polished and etched before applying the veneer, which will roughen the tooth to allow for a strong bonding. A special cement is applied and then placed on the tooth. A special light beam will be used to activate the chemical in the cement and harden or cure it quickly. Your dentist may have you return in a couple weeks to check the fit of your new veneers.
